It was with great sadness that I heard this news. I learned from Jimmy Stearns and then Bill Smith that Bill Humke passed away suddenly this past Friday, following a surgery for an aneurism. Apparently it went well, but later he had a setback.
My Simon family is in shock and quite sad. He was part of our family for over six years. He was the big brother in our family. And of course he was my high school and college great love. I'm so very glad that we mended painful wounds at our 50th high school reunion. We actually had a good time together, shed many tears and also laughs. I weep to think that we'll never get that chance again. So many fun memories. Were we really ever that young? I feel so badly for his wife Kathy, his son Willy and family. What a shock.
