Richard and I became friends as college students at UW-Madison. Our friendship continued during the year shortly after college when I lived in Milwaukee. We drifted apart when I moved back to Madison. Richard had his struggles but he was always kind and intelligent. I am sorry that he's gone and I wish I had been a better friend.
